Festival Of Colors!

Festival Of Colors!
The festival of colors also know as the Holi color festival. Utah is a fun place to live but during the months of march and april it is AMAZING! The color fest is the Hindi way of welcoming the spring! It was my first color festival and i had a GREAT time. I went with my friend Becky who goes to TA with me :) The festival brings a huge crowed to their Temple where on every hour there is a color throwing. this is where everyone gathers at the stage and count down from ten. it is very hard to breath after you throw but it looks SO beautiful! the moment you step out of your car to park the colors start flying this fun powder looks RAD if you are wearing white.

After the festival my Facebook blew up with all the posts for people at color fest. A few of the girls were upset because their "pretty" platinum hair was now colored. A guest artist a few months Dalin Flint showed us how to use the Holi colors as a hair color stain just by adding water! this amazing stuff sticks too! It is just like another hair color but three times as bright.

After the throwing, Becky and found a cool spot to take some photos here they are <3

Hands on with Nicholas French!

Nicholas French Class

Is it real? Yes! NICK FRENCH at TA :)
Nicholas french graced us with his wonderful presence this week! If you don't know who that is... he is a master hairdresser who has an amazing eye for Avant-Gard long hair dressing. He is a very important part of our hair history. Nick and his family owned the creative and artistic French's of london. freddy french (nicholas's father) inspired many including vidal sassoon! (who shadowed him for a short time.)
Mr.French started out our guest artist class with a bang. Our VERY egger and excited audience was amazed to see his books with large prints of his work from the past. He wowed everyone with his storied of the royal family his father. We saw a video with clips of his dad doing hair shows, the amazing sculptures he made to decorate the windows at his dads salon. Nick really gave the crowed some encouragement to look into our history and be inspired by the past.

The fun didn't stop there! The next day we had a hands on class were we got one on one time with nicholas and his assistant where we got to learn new tricks and fun new ways to do long hair. He helped us really understand how many ways there are to back comb and get your pins to hold.my personal favorite part was when we all got to draw out on head forms what we wanted to create.  It was great I jus wish that it could have been longer!
