At my school we have a two week make up class were a group of mac professionals comes in and for a extra few (not so few) bucks you get a starter make up kit and super rad kit. Also in this class you get your mac pro certification after completing this class. I have been having so much fun and i am sad it is going to be over on monday. I have really learned amazing things. we talked a lot about color and my first though when are instructor said "hey guys tomorrow we are learning the color wheel" was OH NO! i have had this class over 100000000 times :(. I was very much surprised to learn that "the hair color wheel and the make up color wheel are sisters not twins". Color on the face are more about what colors look good in layers on top or near each other. which is different from hair color where you are using layers of color on top of each other to create a color. I really learned a lot about the intensity of the color you are using, triadic, complimentary, split complimentary, monochromatic, and analogous color combinations. Tomorrow we are doing are final photo shoot in class. i am very excited! thanks so much great instructors!

WHAT EVERYONE NEEDS FOR FASHION WEEK
There a lot of things you need for this big of an event but here are a few.
#1. You will need a manufacturer to back you up! You need product and you need a team!
#2. Extra batteries and extension chords. Outlets are very hard to find so be prepared.
#3.Granola bars. You never really know when you will get a break and the days are long.
#4. Be very real. there are a lot of people that want to walk all over you, but just stay nice and everyone will appreciate it.
#5. You have to have your show face on! be professional and show you want to be there.
#6. Now with your tools you will need very good pins but you will also need CHEEP pins. only because no matter what you will not see these back you want you look to stay strong and stable but not overpriced!
#7. Business cards!!!!!!!!!!!!
#8. Know where you are going. GPS? subway app of any kind or even a good old fashioned map?
#9. Models are nice but they are not your friends so keep your conversations professional.
#10. Always dress to impress but also show you can work well. Pockets are important as well as your shoes!
Fashion week... for the first time.
What the Mercedes-benz 2012 fall Fashion week was really like in adjectives ;)
It was..
Busy, crowded, cold, beautiful, overwhelming, FUN, colorful, skinny, tall, detailed, unorganized....., well organized, unstoppable, larger than life, powerful, inspiring, collaborative, skilled, professional,
EPIC!
Two weeks ago i got up at 4:15am and flew to NYC. My biggest goal then was really to just get there! I was crossing my fingers that when i got there the stars would all align and i would get to see at least one great show. as soon as i landed i found i had totally underestimated just how much fun i was going to have and how many cool shows i was gong to see. I was staying with some family friends of mine Larra and Arri! Two of the greatest people ever. I had so much fun they made their loft style apartment feel like home! I would gladly stay on their futon there ANYDAY over a smelly hotel!
The next step was to get in. The first thing i did was call every single person i know from the industry in NYC. my great friends Jaylin Youm http://www.facebook.com/jaylinyoum, Paul Miller http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=551157096, Joseph DiMaggiohttp://www.facebook.com/fashionmeetspassion , and Theresa Adams http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000202844347 all helped me out alot. They are the best people you could possibly meet they pushed me into the wonderful world of runway.
My first show was for Reebok where i got to do some long hair. Second show was Katie Gallagher http://www.katiegallagher.com/fw12.htm it was so beautiful, i also got to do some really cool long hair. Number three was Cahrine malandrino http://www.catherinemalandrino.com/runway/. I was all photos for that one it was sooooo cool and needed to be documented. The last show for Carlos Campos http://carloscampos.com/ at milk studios where we also got to see the public school http://publicschoolnyc.com/ mens wear collection :)
