SONG OF THE DAY!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xuHE7pwOvOc&feature=related
Two headed boy cover- Andrew Jackson jihad
This band in the best and i love them a lot hope you do too!
Two-headed boy
All floating in glass
The sun it is past
Now it's blacker than black
I can hear as you tap on your jar
I am listening to hear where you are
I am listening to hear where you are
Two-headed boy
Put on Sunday shoes
And dance round the room to accordion keys
With the needle that sings in your heart
Catching signals that sound in the dark
Catching signals that sound in the dark
We will take off our clothes
And they'll be placing fingers through the notches in your spine
And when all is breaking everything that you could keep inside
Now your eyes ain't moving now
They just lay there in their climb
Two-headed boy
With pulleys and weights
Creating a radio played just for two
In the parlor with a moon across her face
And through the music he sweetly displays
Silver speakers that sparkle all day
Made for his lover who's floating and choking with her hands across her face
And in the dark we will take off our clothes
And they'll be placing fingers through the notches in your spine
And when all is breaking everything that you could keep inside
Now your eyes ain't moving now
They just lay there in their climb
Two-headed boy
There's no reason to grieve
The world that you need is wrapped in gold silver sleeves
Left beneath Christmas trees in the snow
I will take you and leave you alone
Watching spirals of white softly flow
Over your eyelids and all you did
Will wait until the point when you let go

Movie set!
Today i went on the set of a movie in downtown Salt Lake City. the day was full of twists and turns. Armed with my new fish eye lens, i rocked some long hair and did some rad wigs. we got really lucky to have a few extra kids on set with us from artistic team because we ended up doing a huge group of about 20 at one time. We doubled up and made everything work. Now i am going to edit away some photos and research New York for fashion week on tuesday :)

What to do at a HAIRSHOW!
This weekend i went to ISSE LB :)http://www.probeauty.org/isselb/ I go to this show every year and always learn so much. This time I got to meet the great Steve Elias. Steve is a master hairdresser he has won TONS of awards in our industry. He now has his own magazine, where fashion and hair are combined to create fantastic visually stimulating photographs. http://www.tantalummag.com/ check it out! Steve taught a class with my parents (The TEALS http://www.tealsalon.com/ ) this weekend on wigs and hair pieces for photo shoots. The class was EPIC even for me who has see my parents on stage my whole life. We did five different classes at ISSE and i can say 100% that we had a great time teaching every single one.
Here is my guide to getting the most out of your first hair show.
Here is my guide to getting the most out of your first hair show.
- Get a schedule.
- The pit (This is also called the show floor. Product, distributors, and hair extensions live here. if you want to spend your money or are opening a salon this is your place to go. ) is your enemy.
- BUY CLASSES NOT GLASSES. (there is a time and place for drinking... its not here.)
- Choose the right classes. Be sure you have a plan or outline of which classes you plan on taking. once you choose a class or workshop don't back down. You need to stay through the entire duration of the class. Getting up to leave is rude.
- Dress to impress! Classy not over the top crazy.
- Take notes. write it ALL down!
- Stay all day. You are going to be on your feet all day as a hairdresser anyway! Get to work kids!your day doesn't end till the show ends.
- Focus on technique NOT product. if you are looking for a product line CONTACT A MANUFACTURER! a hair show is a place where you should expand your horizons technically.
- Have business cards. NETWORK NETWORK NETWORK!
- Be prepared. Water, granola bars, extra cash just in case.
Artistic team: Being productive at hair school
Create an artistic team at your school! At my beauty school we have a team that meets every Wednesday. We do things like photo shoots and bridal shows. Extra things that push you and your school over the edge. You could help your school get publicity WHILE getting great photos for your portfolio.
